Highlights from Tom Berger's ACMA Presentation
CEO Tom Berger joined fellow ACMA privacy committee panelists Tim Curtis, Ali Khimji and David Swetnam-Burland to discuss the evolving privacy landscape. The ACMA is advocating for a federal privacy legislation that will reduce the complexity of managing disparate State regulations. However, a unified federal policy remains elusive. Marketers and service providers must prepare for a growing number of state-specific laws. California’s CPRA and Virginia's statue are effective January '23. Colorado’s laws go into effect July '23.
It won't stop there! CCC encourages all clients to engage us in their compliance process. ~10% of our client base has sent CCPA requests with a relatively low volume per. This is expected to increase significantly through '22. CCC strives to manage privacy requests to a high standard that would satisfy whatever state requirements come our way.
